Midheaven (MC)

The Midheaven (MC, Medium Coeli) is the point where the ecliptic crosses the meridian at the top of the chart—the cusp of the 10th house in most house systems. It symbolizes career, public image, authority, and one's "place in the world." William Lilly in Christian Astrology and other traditional authors stress the Sun's dignity when in the angle of the Midheaven for matters of honour and preferment. Planets conjunct or aspecting the MC, and the ruler of the sign on the MC, are key for career and reputation. The MC is computed from birth time and location using the same math (e.g. Placidus, Koch) that Swiss Ephemeris and NASA DE441 data support.
