Natal Almuten
The almuten (or almutem figuris) is the planet that has the most dignity over the key points of the chart—often used in traditional and Hellenistic astrology.
The almuten (from Arabic, "the victorious") is the planet that scores highest in dignity over the main chart factors (e.g. Sun, Moon, Ascendant, Part of Fortune). Calculating it involves assigning points for sign placement (domicile, exaltation, triplicity, term, face) and summing; the planet with the highest total is the almuten.
It is a traditional and Hellenistic technique, described in sources like Vettius Valens and later medieval texts. In practice, the almuten is treated as a significator of the person's life or body. Calculating it requires precise longitudes (e.g. from Swiss Ephemeris or NASA DE441) and a clear set of dignity rules.
