Trine (Astrology)

A trine is a 120° angle between two planets, associated with ease, flow, and natural talent.

A trine is a major aspect formed when two planets are approximately 120° apart (same element: fire, earth, air, or water). It is traditionally considered a "harmonious" or "benefic" aspect. In Ptolemy's Tetrabiblos, trines (and sextiles) are described as conducive to cooperation between the planetary influences. They often show where life flows easily—sometimes so easily that the native may take the talent for granted until other transits activate it. Trines don't remove challenge from life; they indicate areas of natural ability and support. Used consciously, they can be channels for creativity and resilience.
